Talk: Where Do We Go Now? - Audio in Split Fiction

Split Fiction, the latest game from Hazelight, is an action packed split-screen co-op adventure game absolutely FILLED to the brim with content. In this talk, Filip Järnmark (Sound Designer), reveals how the Hazelight audio team, whilst being pressed on time and having a massive backlog, managed to finalize the sound of Split Fiction by a combination of processes and techniques. Attention will be drawn to the game’s Audio Direction, and a production method that the Hazelight audio team calls “First pass Only pass”.

Filip will in great detail present how the game's Audio Direction was made, and how the audio team used it as a means to navigate and overcome many challenges throughout the development of Split Fiction. The audience will also learn how the “First pass Only pass” method came into play, how it affected the daily work of the audio team, and why they wish to not use this production method despite its success.
